The age at which adulthood becomes undeniable. You’ve usually figured out at the very least what you don’t want to be doing with your life even if you haven’t quite landed on what you should be doing with it. The stage in life where staying in sounds much more appealing than “going out” and you sometimes hope the plans you made last week fall through. Umm yeah, actually our 30s don’t sound that great on paper! But don’t fret! All the carefree fun of our 20s hasn’t faded into oblivion, it’s simply grown up with us. A good bottle of wine, a shared meal, a book you can’t put down, and meaningful convos full of laughter with people that will likely be around for the long haul is the new normal.
So this year (my 30th to be exact) instead of an elaborate dinner, a last minute weekend getaway or a night out on the town with the girls, I spent the day with my “new normal” – a little family of 3.
We got out of the house with our 6 week old for a few hours while the weather was nice. Picked up a cute little planter at All Good Things, took some fun shots in the Bishop Arts area, and checked out some local art at [n]eighborhood. A chill day. A worthy celebration. A new normal.
