As the Director of Communication and Events, I was tasked with thoughtfully considering our goals as an organization that cares for people both inside and out of the “church” and to lead a creative team in a rebrand representative of its outlined values and aims.
New to the community and met with understandable reluctance from some, we wanted to create an online and offline presence that was welcoming, engaging, and empathetic. We started by expanding our knowledge base — interviewing trusted leaders in the area and seeking insight from longtime residents. We nurtured meaningful partnerships with local nonprofits and interfaith organizations offering assistance to ongoing outreach efforts.
The overall visual identity was developed to encompass an already felt energy amongst organizational leaders and laypersons alike. The vibrant and lively community responded in kind. We utilized environmental graphics, digital and print materials and social media to spread the word about community events, social good initiatives, and increase brand recognition.
